The job
A 460sqm masonry home, reworked around a new 60sqm extension. The brief was not to make it bigger for its own sake, but to make the middle of the house work.
Structural walls came out and steel beams went in, which is the kind of work that decides whether a renovation feels like an addition or feels like the house was always this way. The kitchen and dining were enlarged into one space, a gym was added, and all three bathrooms were rebuilt in premium finishes.
It went in front of the Master Builders House of the Year judges and came out with the National Supreme Renovation of the Year: the top renovation in the country that year.
